La Locanda del Sale is a family-run guest house. The recent renovation has tried to recover the charm of the ancient Genoese-style house that was once the school of the town.
Located on the first hill of Soglio in the Municipality of Orero, 17 kilometers from the sea, it boasts an ideal position for those looking for a peaceful stay surrounded by nature. The mountain of Soglio reaches 66o meters in height and is ideal for trekking and walks to discover the territory. The ancient salt road is one of the paths that can still be covered today. From the mountain there are also paragliding jumps. Just 2 km from the Locanda del Sale is the slate cycle path that runs along the Entella river up to Chiavari.

Space

La Locanda del Sale has a two-room apartment, a studio apartment and a room equipped for breakfast. You will also find an internal relaxation area for reading, board games and vinyls. Outside the panoramic square that overlooks the valley magnificently and a patio with tables that connects to the square of the church of San Michele (1036 AD). The breakfast is Italian and available directly in the accommodation.

Things to know

Easily reachable from the Chiavari or Lavagna motorway exit, the Locanda del Sale is located in a small village near the historic Church of San Michele. Entirely surrounded by greenery, it boasts a pleasant climate all year round. The structure is an ancient Genoese-style house divided over three floors, on the ground floor a relaxation area, mini bar and reception, on the second the bedrooms - apartments.
To reach the Locanda del Sale it is advisable to use a personal means of transport or a taxi. The provincial road is only 2 kilometers from the Locanda, going up the Soglio hill the view is fantastic and in a short time you are already immersed in nature.
Once you reach the church of Soglio you can park freely along the road on the white lines.
All the main bar, restaurant and food services are located along the provincial road. The first pizzeria can be reached by car in just 7 minutes
(Pizzeria Il Caminito in Calvari).

Near the activity

Soglio is located 222 meters above the sea with a panoramic position over the whole valley. From the town of Costa di Soglio you can still walk the ancient path of the salt road which in ancient times was used for the salt trade. Still signposted and viable, it enters the wildest areas that the hinterland can offer, including ruins, old ruined mills, wild horses and disused slate quarries. A charm to be rediscovered.

Crossing the Passo della Crocetta it is possible to enjoy fantastic panoramic views, also possible through a path that leads to the ancient Sanctuary of Montallegro overlooking the Gulf of Tigullio.
